Rev. Dr. Daniel Agbeko

CEO & Founder

Rev. Dr. Daniel Agbeko holds a Ph.D in Entrepreneurship and Finance from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, an MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester in the UK, a Certificate in Microfinance from India and a BSc. Degree in Agriculture concurrently with a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast as well as a Certificate in Higher Education in Applied Ministry from the Ghana Academy of Pastors. Rev. Dr. Agbeko started his Banking career in 1998. Throughout the 18 years of active service (1998-2016), Rev. Dr. Agbeko acquired in-depth skills in Banking operations and technical knowledge in Rural Finance, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, and Finance with strong skills in credit analysis for micro, small and medium scale enterprises, concurrently with 5 years’ experience in lecturing and coaching students both in Ghana and in the Netherlands on how to start their own businesses. Rev. Dr. Agbeko is also an international consultant in microfinance, agriculture, and entrepreneurship capacity-building programs for rural banks, private microfinance institutions, and other businesses and companies across Ghana and other developing countries. Rev. Dr. Agbeko has authored several technical papers and books on microfinance, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and rural banking and has presented same at seminars in Ghana and other microfinance and entrepreneurship conferences in India, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Rev. Dr. Agbeko is a motivational speaker and a preacher, he has preached in many churches in the UK, in the Netherlands, and in Ghana. He is also the Board Chairman of Life Gate Credit Union, Entrepreneurs Capital Cooperative, Dream July Foundation, Akomadan Rural Bank, and a board member of various organizations. Rev. Dr. Agbeko is the founder and CEO of Quente Africa and Social Doctors and the founder of Hands-up Clothing. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and the Deputy Director of the Technical and Vocation Education Research Centre (TVERC) at Ho Technical University, a Senior Consultant for Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation (Saving Banks Foundation for International Cooperation- SBFIC) in Germany, German Technical Corporation (GIZ). Daniel is a Council Member of ICGC Life Gate Temple and Member of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International (FGBMFI) since 1999. Rev. A dedicated professional with 20 years of work experience within the microfinance sector in Ghana, providing policy and technical advice with a special focus on developing and implementing capacity building programs as well as impact monitoring of microfinance operations. Instrumental in the setting up and the management of the global microfinance programs in Ghana for the African Microfinance Practitioner, the Microenterprise Development Institute (MDI) of the Southern New Hampshire University USA and the Sustainable Microenterprise Development Program (SMDP) of the University of New Hampshire, USA. A member of the Advisory Board for the SMDP, Carsey Institute Africa Program (2008 – 2016). As a Microfinance Specialist/Business Development Manager at the Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN), developed capacity building programs for GHAMFIN members which included Rural and Community Banks, Financial NGOs, Credit Unions, Susu Collectors Association and companies (now Microfinance companies), and Savings and Loans companies. Management of pool of facilitators and accreditation of consultants for both government/donor related microfinance programs and GHAMFIN members. Introduced the Performance Monitoring and Benchmarking (PMB) system in 2004 supported by the Microfinance Information eXchange (MIX) U.S.A, which has become the only program that independently assesses the performance of microfinance institutions (MFIs) and compares them with peers nationally and globally. Brings strong, established relationships with stakeholders from across the Ghanaian microfinance sector – including MFIs and their clients, the central bank, donors, and national and local government departments. A member of the steering committee for the Gender Responsive Skills and Community Development Project(GRSCDP) (for the enhancement of women micro entrepreneurs) of the Ministry of Women & Children’s Affairs until 2010. Holds a Master of Science (MSc) in International Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University -U.S.A. And a diploma from the Harvard Kennedy School(Financial Institutions for Private Enterprise Development (FIPED)). Boston , Massachusetts. Clara is currently an Independent Financial Inclusion specialist, working with Financial Institutions and Corporate bodies in developing strategies for their Social Performance Management (SPM) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. She also serves on three other boards.
